What is Formula Thunder®?
It is many things:
It is a concept twenty years in the making. It is a philosophy built upon years of experiences. It is a set of rules designed for safety, cost efficiency, and rigid simplicity without compromising performance. It is a business sparked by passion. It is a parts supplier, a racing series, and a registered trademark. But most importantly for us, it is a way to give back to the sport we love.
Formula Thunder® is a spec part, spec powertrain, and spec assembly class/series. NOT A SPEC CAR CLASS. The idea behind Formula Thunder® is quite simple. Manufacture cars that are safe as possible, highly reliable, and competitive, with low-tech, diverse designs. This set of rules allows anyone to build one in their garage, campaign it, and not break the bank.

Through this set of rules, Formula Thunder® seeks to encourage and allow the “average Joe” to get involved in competitive road racing. In our experience, many, very competent potential racing drivers and teams have been held back by what we like to call the “unobtanium” approach to modern-day motorsport. We feel it is our responsibility to offer an alternative.
